Dr. Kati Guada
I have always had compassion for those who are struggling. That compassion, combined with my genuine curiosity about people and outgoing nature, has led me into the field of psychology and to founding Guada Psychological Services. Today I work with both adolescents and adults who are in therapy for a range of mental health difficulties, from anxiety and depression to psychosis and trauma.
As a licensed clinical psychologist, I earned a doctorate in psychology, the result of an intense program of classroom and clinical study at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I also hold a bachelor’s in psychology from Indiana University. As a PsyD, I am trained to see even the most serious cases. While my comprehensive education and understanding of theory is certainly part of my therapy work, I also believe that building rapport and lasting relationships with patients is how I can help people the most.
Providing relief through quality care
My adolescent and adult patients struggle with nervousness, negative thought patterns, low self-esteem, and many other challenges that can compromise their happiness. These burdens cause stress at work, school, home, and in their relationships. As a therapist, I pride myself on providing quality care, simplifying complex situations, and giving patients tools to live healthier lives.
The Whole Person
In therapy, I carefully consider the full context of my patients’ lives—the school or work environment, family life, relationships, responsibilities, past experiences, expectations, and more. Therapy is about strengthening coping skills and making change that can ease life’s burdens. I measure patients’ progress throughout treatment to ensure therapy is effective.
Therapy in English and Spanish
I speak both languages and often work with patients whose parents do not speak English.

Sarah English, LPC
My passion is to help individuals and families who have gone through experiences not everyone can understand. I enjoy equipping my clients with targeted skills to help them return to enjoying everyday life. My priority is to build a healthy relationship and rapport between my client and myself, that creates a safe and open environment.
Education & Experience
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) currently working towards my Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I received my Masters in Counseling with a Specialization in Forensic Psychology from Adler University and my Bachelors in Psychology from Western Illinois University.
My work prior to Guada Psychological Services included tutoring children with a variety of mental health diagnosis and working with children, adolescents and young adults in court mandated and substance abuse cases. I have also worked with teens recently released from the psychiatric hospital and I currently provide counseling at a drug rehab center for women with substance use and mental health disorders.
My expertise also includes general counseling for anxiety, depression, and trauma. My experience with both individual and group therapy has allowed me to serve a wide variety of clients and mental health needs.
One approach does not fit all.
A lot of my therapeutic approach has included aspects of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, however, I am not limited to a certain therapeutic approach; I believe aspects from all theories can allow me to treat every individual with compassionate care and targeted solutions.
My goal when working with my clients is to provide the appropriate care for each individual in a safe and confidential space. My hope is to provide the right skills and solutions that allow my clients to be successful in the areas they currently struggle with.
