Education and Training

Alissa Tomanek is a therapy extern pursuing her doctorate in clinical psychology at Adler University. Alissa views her clients as the experts of their own lives and perceives therapy as a working alliance between the clinician and the client. She sees her own role as someone to help guide, not someone who needs to instruct.  Drawing from a blend of humanistic and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) therapy approaches, Alissa strives to acknowledge her client's strengths and help them learn to work with their weaknesses. Alissa provides individual therapy for patients across the lifespan and is under the supervision of Dr. Montesano and Dr. Guada.
