Nicholas Marselle, Doctoral Student in Training in Schaumburg

Nicholas is a third-year doctoral student in the Psy.D. Clinical Psychology program at Adler University. He says that he got into the field because he has a passion to help others. He also has a special appreciation for those working in the mental health field after having been helped successfully through some of his own personal life challenges. Nicholas is working with adults and adolescents in the therapy setting at Guada Psych Services. He uses an integrative and interpersonal approach that is influenced by psychoanalytic and CBT modalities. Nicholas’ gentle and upbeat approach to people as well as his serious attention to detail make him a great fit for our clinical training program as well as our patient population. 

Education and Training

Nicholas is a native of Chicago, IL. He earned his BA in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. Upon completing his BA, he enrolled in the rigorous doctoral training program at Adler University located in downtown Chicago. While challenging, Nicholas says that he enjoys the diverse range of clinical experiences a doctoral training program demands in order to graduate. 

Areas of Interest

Prior to starting at Guada Psychological Services, Nicholas externed at a private practice in Chicago where he conducted psychological assessments with children and adults on a variety of referral questions. Nicholas’s primary areas of interest include ADHD, OCD, anxiety, and mood disorders. He is additionally interested in working with adolescents and young adults, as well as providing psychological assessments.
