Dr. Tori Visscher began working with Guada Psych Services in November of 2022 and is a welcomed addition to our diverse team of talented therapists and psychologists! Dr. Visscher is motivated to bring testing services to underserved populations, and she says that she enjoys working as a psychologist because it allows her to help people reach their personal goals and aspirations. Dr. Visscher says, "Finding the right diagnosis can make a world of difference in knowing where to begin with creating change. I enjoy giving recommendations and suggestions that can help create a roadmap for what direction to take in treatment and provide clarity to those who may be struggling with how to manage their experiences." Dr. Visscher performs a range of psychological evaluations, from ADHD rule out to diagnostic clarification.
Education and Training
Dr. Visscher completed her undergraduate career at Grand Valley State University located in Grand Rapids, MI where she studied both psychology and criminal justice. She then went on to complete her doctorate in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL. In addition to her extensive educational background, Dr. Visscher has completed her clinical rotations working with some of the most challenging clinical presentations and training environments. Prior to Guada Psych, Dr. Visscher worked at the Taycheedah Correctional Institution where she was responsible for offering individual and group therapy services to patients. She has extensive training in court mandated services, also having trained at the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Kane County Diagnostic Center, and 19th Judicial Court Psychological Services. Dr. Visscher additionally has trained on an inpatient unit, and has experience working with adolescents and adults. Due to Dr. Visscher's diverse background, she is highly qualified to treat patients who present with a wide range of presenting problems.
Areas of Interest
Dr. Visscher mainly offers evaluation services at Guada Psych currently, however she also sees a handful of therapy patients. Starting in July with our new student cohort, Dr. Visscher will be joining our clinical training program as a supervising psychologist for the psychological evaluation competency. Dr. Visscher has training in providing trauma services and DBT, and she enjoys working with adult patients who have been negatively impacted by some form of trauma. When it comes to psychological evaluations, Dr. Visscher has extensive training and is able to identify even the most challenging clinical diagnosis and treatment needs.
